Everyone knows brainstorming as one of the famous ideation techniques.
It has limits. Many times, good ideas are left in the dark because people are to shy or embarrassed to saybor think it's wrong. And we miss.
With brainwriting, people feel more comfortable to share, feel more open, and are able to build on top of other ideas better.
Large audience should be divided into groups of up to 6 people.
And from that point, there's a strict methodology that you should follow on how to moderate the session.
You can read more on how to conduct it here:

Or see a clip about it here:

Of course you can google it and find many more info about it.
I think it is useful tool for an innovative product manager. Good forbuse when you have a new req that you want to tackle and is not trivial, in that way you can get few angles, very good to engage people and get their buy in.
From my experience, it is important to narrow the scope of the session to a very concrete problem statement, and also to make sure that all participants have fare knowledge of the topic, so you will get decent ideas.
I find it useful to use from time to time, take off the rust from the everyones innovation muscle.
Brainwrite like crazy, happy to assist!
